At Classical Schoolhouse, we believe parents are the best teachers for their children, so we offer support to help equip parents to teach their children at home. We meet once a week throughout the year providing Christian-based classes for ages pre-k through high school. There are three programs to choose from based on your child’s age. Below are brief descriptions of each program.
Foundations
In Foundations (ages 4-12) children meet with a parent in the morning to learn 7 core subjects. A trained tutor helps students memorize a core of knowledge that forms the “foundation” for the Essentials and Challenge programs later on. Students learn English grammar, Latin, Math facts, Science, History, and more! The program meets once a week for 24 weeks.
Essentials
In Essentials (ages 9-12) students attend with a parent once a week in the afternoon. A trained tutor will lead the class in English grammar, writing, and math drills.
Challenge
In Challenge (ages 12 and up, 7th-12th grade), students meet once a week with a trained tutor throughout the year. This is a full curriculum year which covers math, Latin, literature, writing, science, and more! Students will practice writing and debate through Mock Trial and Science fair. Through student led seminars, students will ultimately develop leadership skills and perfect the art of public speaking.
